Various scenes from the flash cartoon I've been working on. As it's set during the 1960s, I've tried to adapt some of the visual formulas of the period. Old school anime was often filmed in black and white, adopting a very cartoonish approach to the visuals (in contrast to the backgrounds, which were rendered in realistic detail). Another well-known convention was the totally gratuitous panchira; early Japanese animation was notorious for low angles and panty shots (don't blame me, Osamu Tezuka started it with Uran in Tetsuwan Atom).

One thing I have learned in all this ages is that animated girls'skirts don't follow the phisic laws but only the will of the authors. Infact I remember that in an episode of Little Mouse On The Praire the bunny (what's her original name? In italian she's called Tea) was standing upside down on her hands as the girl in the third panel, but her gown was not dropping.

Hi Ocarina, thanks for your message. In actual fact, this is my work. As stated in the picture's description, these are images from a flash animation I'm working on. The original drawings are pen and ink sketches, rendered up in photoshop to make them look like screencaps.

In terms of reference material, I tried to emulate the visual style on old 60s cartoons such as Astroboy, Gigantor, Mahou Tsukai Sally etc.
